PDB Files

These are some examples of PDB files. "PDB" stands for "Protein Data Bank". It is a format used by the Protein Data Bank to record the 3D structure of large molecules of proteins and nucleic acids.

Programs to read a PDB file:

• The AVS module pdb_to_geom creates an AVS geometry from a PDB file.
• PDB_EXTRACT can read a PDB file and write another file containing certain information.
• PDB_READ can read the information in a PDB file.

Programs to convert a PDB file to another format:

• PDB_TO_XYZ reads a PDB file and writes the atomic coordinates to an XYZ file.

Programs to convert another format to a PDB file:

• XYZ_TO_PDB reads an XYZ file and writes the data as atomic coordinates in a PDB file.

Data files:

• 7tln.pdb;
• 7wga.pdb;
• monomer.pdb, a file with 888 atoms;
• sheet.pdb;
• tiny.pdb, a "tiny" file with 12 atoms;
