Travel:

Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg area in Virginia are served by the Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA), which has several daily flights by USAir, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, or their affiliated regional carriers. Transportation between Roanoke Airport and Blacksburg will be organized upon request. To request transportation, please contact the organizers at this e-mail, once you have made your travel reservations:  schmittm@vt.edu

 

Van Service:

Transportation to Blacksburg for participants:

The easiest way is to wait for our van. It will leave Roanoke Airport at the following times: 2 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm, and 9 pm, and will stop at both the Microtel and the Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center. Please e-mail Beate Schmittmann at schmittm@vt.edu with your arrival time (if you haven’t already done so) to make sure space is available on the van.

Alternatively, car rentals are available in the terminal building.

Taxi between Roanoke Airport and Blacksburg is about $70 per trip.

Registration:

Deadline: February 29, 2004.

Graduate and undergraduate students: FREE.

A nominal fee of U.S. $60 will be charged of all other participants to cover coffee breaks and refreshments.
